Inmates’ orientation

Inmates will receive a handout during orientation in which the rules of the prison will be communicated to the inmates who can then easily adapt to the new life and receive edification as soon as possible.

Setting plans

Once inside the prison, we will conduct a face to face interview with the inmate to investigate directly.  Surveys are also sent to the family members.  The local police station of the inmate’s residence district will also receive a survey in which the inmate’s personal traits, criminal history, family situation will be provided to us so we can devise a plan suitable for the inmate personally.

Once an inmate comes in, her photo is taken by the Investigation Section and filed to be distributed to our business section, the police and the district prosecutor’s office for reference.  New picture of the inmate is taken annually to update the file. 

After-release anti-drug promotion

To help prepare those inmates who are close to be released, our prison has asked the Taiwan After-Care Association and Taoyuan City Drug Abuse Prevention Center to send counselors in to provide individual or group counseling to inmates on drug abuse prevention.

After-release individual counseling

To understand the after-release need of the inmate in terms of employment, education, settling, etc., we have asked the Taiwan After-Care Association to come in to provide individual and group counseling, social resources, employment counseling services.
